Coldwater Mayor Jose Ceballos charged with non-citizen voting in three elections

Voter history shows Ceballos voted in 29 elections since 2000

Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced on Wednesday that Coldwater Mayor Jose Ceballos was being charged for voting multiple times when he was not a US citizen. Ceballos was re-elected Mayor on Tuesday.

The complaint filed against Ceballos shows three counts of “Voting without being qualified” and three counts of “Election perjury” for Kansas elections on Nov. 8, 2022, Nov. 7, 2023, and Aug. 6, 2024.

Voter registration records

Ceballos’ voter registration was captured in 41 voter files from July 2008 through Sept. 2025. He was a registered Republican.
