No, not just a dream

Not fruits of imagination

Camelot, it never was

Utopia, never will be

Valhalla and Nirvana 

Mere myths

Not so for America

America is real

She is unique

The great exception

Her people 

Free

Her abundance

Beyond measure

She shared –

Her contributions

To the world

Incalculable

She fed

She freed

She taught

She healed

She did not 

Suppress

But lifted 

Vanquished foes

Freedom begets

Prosperity

Innovation

Peace

Freedom begets

Individual rights

Responsibilities

Opportunity

Tyranny begets

Tyranny

Limited speech

Limited thought

Tyranny begets

Poverty

Rationing

Slavery

Who would trade

You may wonder

freedom for tyranny

Would anyone?

Yes

Those who would condemn

America

For her imperfections

They can only compare her

To the figments

Of their imaginations

Of nations that never were

They demand

More and more free goods

Until all of her good 

Has been bled from her

So she is offered up for destruction

Without thorough thought

Of the unintended consequences

Without considering her value

But when 

She is gone

Where s the new land

To start over

There is none

So is it better 

to destroy her and start over

upon her crumbled ashes

Or better to fine tune 

Upon her free foundations

For when all

Is said and done

She is the best that ever was

Who can name another

If so, where
