Have you noticed the shift that has taken place in our country over the last few years? Of course there was Covid, but so much more than that has changed, and it seems to me that Covid was the catalyst.

Recently I watched the recording of the Rescue the Republic Rally held on September 29th in Washington, D.C. The event was presented by the MAHA Alliance (Make America Healthy Again) in support of Republican candidate Donald J. Trump. I mostly tuned in to hear from CHD speakers Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (Chairman on leave) and Mary Holland (CEO), but was surprised at the array of political identities represented in both the speakers and the attendees.

There wasn’t a sea of die-hard MAGA Republicans. Instead, there were all different types of conservatives, some libertarians, and even former Democrats. One speaker opened his presentation by remarking that just a few years ago, the people gathered at Rescue the Republic wouldn’t have had even the remotest thing in common.

So what brought them together? Censored social media posts brought them together. Vaccine injuries united them. Trampled freedoms gave them camaraderie. And what caused all of those shared experiences? The Covid-19 “pandemic,” its resulting policies, and the government sanctioned “solution.”

Tell me, a few years ago, did you ever think that one of the leading figures in the health freedom movement would run for president? Did you think that the dangers of the childhood vaccine schedule would become a mainstream discussion in conservative circles? I sure didn’t.

I’d like to propose that Covid-19 was one of the best things to ever happen to the health freedom movement. No part of our freedoms being stripped away was good, don’t get me wrong, but look where we are now. Just like the thousands of parents who would never in a million years question their pediatrician or the CDC and now find themselves labeled “anti-vaxxers” because their child suffered a vaccine injury, there are thousands on our side now because they were forced to experience the pandemic.

One of the injustices that did the most good was censorship. As Del Bigtree noted at the rally, the anti vaxxers have taken stage because we were censored. Despite article after article being written to discredit doctors like Pierre Kory and treatments like Ivermectin, people still came to trust the words of the “disinformation dozen.” I guess the saying, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity” is true after all.

Even so, censorship looms as a disastrous problem. Jordan Peterson predicted, “If free speech is gone in the United States, it’s gone everywhere.” The First Amendment wasn’t written to protect the type of conversation happening at your Thanksgiving dinner table with grandma a few feet away. It was meant to protect thought and opinion that questioned the status quo. Our founders certainly didn’t ascribe to the status quo or a government narrative. They upended the whole system!

Censorship is only one of many battlefields that call for our attention. Mary Holland stood on the Rescue the Republic stage calling the childhood vaccine schedule “criminal.” Pierre Kory stressed, “Medicine has been captured.” Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., called the state of children’s health in America an “existential crisis.” We face issues with food standards, privacy, financial freedom, and more.

Though the battles ahead seem daunting, looking around at the crowd and speakers at Rescue the Republic, I believe that the troops have gathered and they’re going to keep coming. We’re poised to turn the tide. We have the potential to save children and to create lasting change in our country.

As Mary Holland often says, the truth is on our side. What are you doing with the truth that you have?
